Pantone, the authority on all things color, has introduced its color of the year for 2017. Aptly named “Greenery,” the company describes it as a “fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.”
As per usual with Pantone’s color of the year, Greenery could prove to be quite influential in both design and accessories. The company typically makes its choice to represent the current mood of global culture.
In making this year’s selection, Pantone Color Institute Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman cited the recent “tumultuous social and political environment” as a need to reconnect with nature in order to rejuvenate.
Along with naming the color, Pantone showcased a variety of palettes, noting that the tone can be utilized in areas ranging from fashion and beauty all the way to applications for graphic design.

After what many would describe as a wild year, Greenery represents the ability to reconnect with nature in order to clear our minds. With the introduction of the color, Pantone provides a great deal of color pairings that really embody the idea of renewal.
Greenery works great as a color for accent furniture (try repainting furniture finds from Turn Style!), lamps, accessories, and much more.
